You are invited to join the Georgia Essentials for Childhood Annual Meeting on Thursday, August 31, 9:30–11:30 a.m. The meeting will take place on Zoom, and you can register here.

Georgia Essentials is a coalition of state agencies, nonprofit organizations, and stakeholders from across Georgia who come together to synchronize their efforts to build safe, stable, and nurturing relationships and environments, address and prevent adverse childhood experiences, improve community environments, and reduce and destigmatize trauma. You can learn more about Georgia Essentials and its members here. This work includes Georgia Essentials’ responsibility for the implementation of Georgia’s 10-year Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Plan (CANPP); which was developed in 2019–2020 with input from experts, professionals, parents, caregivers, and community members throughout Georgia.

During the Annual Meeting, members, stakeholders, and potential participants and members will review the past year’s progress for Georgia Essentials and the implementation of the CANPP. We will also discuss the initiative’s goals for the upcoming year. This will be an opportunity for all to voice their thoughts and suggestions on how Georgia Essentials can continue to strengthen its positive impact on the families and children of Georgia. If you are new to Georgia Essentials, this meeting can also serve as an introduction to our work and to identify ways you or your organization can get involved.

This meeting is an excellent opportunity to connect with organizations and individuals whose work is focused on child and family well-being. Please feel free to forward this invitation to your colleagues as you see fit. If you have questions about the meeting, please do not hesitate to email essentials@gsu.edu.

We hope to see you there!

Sincerely,

Georgia Essentials for Childhood
