I just wanted to spotlight a few celebrations from our grant:

1. One of our families was literally OVERWHELMED by the number of goals they had to accomplish. They were referred by one of our partners, Family Connection and they have lots of support through the school. Together with our partners, we have been able to move some mountains for these guys- tackling legal issues, getting better healthcare coverage including dental, applying for better and more affordable housing and most of all- better opportunities! Dad, who lost a leg due to diabetes and has been on crutches, is now getting a new leg! This was a MAJOR Goal for this family and we are so excited for him!

2. Another of our families is expecting a baby any day now but she has participated in our workshops and is working on her goals- she is also moving mountains! Last weekend at our workshop, this mom shared so much of her story and was very transparent. One of our trainers had a surprise for her- a baby swing that was much needed! This mom was so overjoyed at this gift as she now has the last of the basics she needed to welcome her new daughter!
